Tindaya, The magic mountain
Sacred place of worship for ancient inhabitants. Magical properties attributed to a mountain from aboriginal times. Foot-shaped rock engravings facing west called podomorphs, enigmatic remains that remind of Tindaya Mountain’s distant past. A site for calm and inspiration. Art and nature join together in this mountain from ancient times to the present, when sculptor Eduardo Chillida captured his idea of introducing space in matter: Tindaya Mountain Monument Project, “A great sculpture for tolerance.”
“A mountain to create an inner space that could offer itself to men of all creeds and colours, a great sculpture for tolerance.”
