It stands out for its particular architecture within the traditional buildings of the island. It is one of the largest houses in the Canary Islands, but its greatest importance is that it was the official residence of the Colonelate, who had the military rule, thus forming La Oliva.
The house has several spaces all connected to each other and to the service of a family that directed the future of an island. The house of the colonels was settled in the 17th century by the Cabrera Béthencourt family.
