El Cotillo, on the west coast of Fuerteventura, is a charming fishing village which, despite its small size, has great value for both residents and visitors: its ineffable seafaring flavor, its extensive unspoilt beaches on the one hand and the lagoons with crystalline waters and white sand on the other, the taste of the sea served in a wide variety of restaurants and, above all, the sunset that nature gives us every day, make El Cotillo fascinates anyone who is lucky enough to enjoy it.
The versatility of its magnificent beaches and beautiful lagoons, chosen several times as some of the best beaches in Europe by tourists, allows from the most absolute relaxation to the exploration of stunning natural landscapes.
To the north of the small mooring bay of fishing boats, towards the beautiful lighthouse of El Tostón (now a museum of traditional fishing, a must see), small beaches with calm seas that form lakes thanks to the volcanic rocks surrounding them, with very white sand and incredibly clear waters. This is the case of La Concha, Los Lagos and Los Charcos beaches, among others.
To the south, from Castillo del Tostón towards the cliffs of the area, the scenery of the coast is very different but equally captivating: extensive virgin beaches of several kilometers long, such as Piedra Playa, with wild waters and fine golden sand, suitable for surfing and other nautical activities.
