El Cotillo, on the west coast of Fuerteventura, is a charming fishing village that, despite its small size, has great value both for residents on the island and for visitors: its ineffable marine flavor, its extensive virgin beaches by a side and lagoons with crystal clear waters and white sand on the other, the taste of the sea served in a wide variety of restaurants and, above all, the sunset that nature gives us every day, makes El Cotillo fascinate anyone who is lucky enough to enjoy it.
The versatility of its magnificent beaches and beautiful lagoons, chosen several times as some of the best beaches in Europe by tourists, allows from the most absolute relaxation to the exploration of stunning landscapes.
To the north of the small mooring bay of fishing boats, in the direction of the beautiful lighthouse of El Tostón (now a museum of traditional fishing, a must see), small beaches, calm seas that form lakes thanks to the rocks volcanic surrounding them, with very white sand and incredibly clear waters. This is the case of the beach of La Concha, Los Lagos and Los Charcos, among others.
To the south, from the Castle of Tostón towards the cliffs of the area, the scenery of the coast is very different but equally captivating: extensive virgin beaches of several kilometers in length, such as Piedra Playa, wild waters and fine golden sand, appropriate for surfing and other nautical activities.
